How Ordering Works

Whether you're purchasing a pre-made cover or enquiring about a custom design, here's exactly what to expect from start to finish.

Pre-Made Book Covers

  1. Purchase from the store — Browse our pre-made designs and buy the one that's right for your book. Each design is sold once only — exclusively yours.
  2. Receive your customisation form — Within 24 hours of purchase, you'll receive an email with a customisation form. Fill it in with your book title, author name, and any minor personalisation details.
  3. Submit your form — Once you've completed and submitted the form, our designer gets to work tailoring the cover to your book.
  4. Receive your final files — Your finished JPEG cover file will be delivered to your email within 5 Australian business days of form submission.

Add-On Formats & Promotional Items

From your purchase date, you have up to 6 months to order additional formatted items at extra cost, including:

  • Full wrap paperback cover
  • Audiobook cover
  • Promotional items — bookmarks, Instagram posts, and more

Please note: After 6 months from your original purchase date, additional format options are no longer available for that design. If you need these items after this period, a custom order will be required.

Custom Book Cover Designs

  1. Get in touch — Contact us to discuss your vision, genre, and requirements. We'll talk through your ideas and provide a quote.
  2. Approve and proceed — Once you're happy with the scope and pricing, we'll get started on your bespoke design.
  3. Collaborate and refine — We'll work with you through the design process, incorporating your feedback along the way.
  4. Receive your final files — Your completed cover files will be delivered via email upon completion.

Usage Terms

  • No AI use — All designs, artwork, and files supplied by Shutterbug Designs must not be used for any AI training, AI generation, or any other artificial intelligence purposes whatsoever.
  • Credit required — Shutterbug Designs must be credited as the cover designer in all book formats where credits are included (e.g. interior copyright page, retailer listings, promotional materials).

Good to Know

  • Pre-made covers are sold once only — each design is exclusive to its purchaser.
  • Minor revisions are included with pre-made covers (text changes, small adjustments). Major changes such as background swaps, heavy edits, or redesigns may incur additional charges.
  • All sales are final due to the digital nature of our products.
  • Source files (PSD etc.) are not included unless purchased as an add-on.
